Vicar Street

Vicar Street is located on Thomas Street in Dublin city centre. You can check out acts that are both well-known and low-key. Since its opening in 1998, Vicar Street has hosted all sorts of comedy, drama and music acts. This venue has a capacity for 1500 standing and just over 1000 seated. There are 5 bars at Vicar Street which all open from 7pm on show nights and can stay open after gigs as well.

Vicar Street is a fabulous venue if you are looking for somewhere different to have a fun experience. The venue has hosted world-famous acts and has won awards for “Irish Music Venue of The Year” several times. It is a unique venue because you can experience a variety of shows that you may not necessarily have in bigger Dublin venues. Tickets can start at very reasonable prices making it an affordable location if you’re on a budget.

If you’re travelling from The Spencer to Vicar Street, you can get a taxi in roughly 15 minutes. An alternative route would be the Luas red line. You can walk to the Luas Mayor Square Stop from the Spencer in about 3 minutes, hop on the Luas and get off at the Smithfield Luas Stop. From there, you walk about 11 minutes to Vicar Street located on Thomas Street in The Liberties. You can walk directly to the venue from The Spencer in about 34 minutes if you fancy taking a walk-through Dublin city centre and seeing some of the sights, including the River Liffey, O’Connell Street and Temple Bar.

Vicar Street is definitely worth a visit during your trip to Dublin!
